Print 1/14: Mock-up

It finally happened, classes started up again this Wednesday. I’m glad I managed to sort out my thoughts more this summer, because the assignments just poured on in.

Specifically, I have a “one-print-a-week” schedule for Print III B. I’m nervous because I know it will be a challenge, but I’m excited at the idea of having 14 new pieces that will be finished by December. It feels good to be prolific.

I made a mock-up of the first print I plan to do for the class.

This is the first image (besides sketches) I’m making since I smoothed out my thesis over the summer. I’m hesitant to share exactly what my final thesis is, because I know it will evolve as the semester progresses.

Also, I’m totally sold on making mock-ups in Photoshop (at least for printmaking). I always considered myself more of a sketchbook kinda gal, but for something as precise as patterning, you can’t beat the computer.
